My name is Rayana, but I usually go by Ray. I’m originally from New Haven, CT. Like many others, I told myself I had to move out of state, and for the past two years, I’ve lived in Houston. Now, I’m in the DMV, continuing to shape the life I once dreamed of.

When I moved out on my own, I made a promise to myself: I would curate a life that felt like a beautiful experience—one free of anything close to struggle or dissatisfaction. Along the way, I’ve learned (and unlearned) so much about who I am, what I want, and what it takes to build the life I deserve. It hasn’t always been easy—it’s been the good, the bad, and the ugly—but I’ve genuinely enjoyed every part of it.

I’m an educator with two degrees and a deep passion for building up and healing our communities. Family and community are where I find the most peace, and through this blog, I hope to extend that same sense of connection and understanding to whoever needs it.
